There will be no puppy classes planned until the weather warms up a bit and that will not be before Easter 2010. In the mean time, we have a lot of success with Private Puppy Training, which is a private lesson including socialisation for puppies with my dogs. Prices for Private Lessons are £30 per session We also have Residential Training Kennels which has also proved to be a very useful service for people with new puppies who chose to take this route with their dogs. Our dog training classes are held out doors from March through to December in a one acre paddock. I run puppy classes and adult beginner classes. During the lighter months I run Walk Nights on Mondays from 7-8 pm, which enables dog owners come come with their dogs and use the field to either walk or train your dog in a secure field.
My style of training is Clicker Training, I do not use any harsh methods of training, such as choke chains. With a proven and sound knowledge of how dogs learn, we can make good progress with your dogs' behaviour if you are willing to put the effort in on a daily basis.
We cover sit, down, stays, lead walking and recall. We also focus heavily on the socialisation aspect of your dogs learning with play sessions in every class for at least 10 minutes.
We always have progress chats at the beginning of every class. This enables you to raise issues that can be shared and answered in the class. These topics include play biting, toilet training, jumping up, distractions etc
At the end of your course you will be required to carry out a short informal test which covers everything you have learnt in class.
For anyone wishing to focus on other aspects of their dogs' training alone, such as recall and / or loose lead walking; a private lesson may be more suitable for you. Single lessons are £30, 3 lessons are £80 and 4 are £92, payable in advance and spread over 2-3 weeks.
Surcharges will be applied to evening and weekend private dog training lessons. Please ring to discuss prices.
